Praised for her radiant coloratura, expressive depth, and arresting stage presence, Bolivian soprano Shelén Hughes Camacho is establishing herself as a distinctive presence on today's operatic stage.
A graduate of The Juilliard School and the Manhattan School of Music, she is a winner of the 2025 George and Nora London Foundation Competition, the 2024 Opera Index Competition, and the 2024 Gerda Lissner Zarzuela Competition. Recent engagements include debuts with Oper Frankfurt, The Cleveland Orchestra, Teatro Nacional de Chile and Carnegie Hall, as well as appearances with Opera Saratoga. Active across opera, concert, and recital repertoire, she continues to build an international career marked by versatility, expressive depth, and a distinctive artistic voice.
